HOW DO I GET INTO #OCEANBORN?
First of all you will need to download an IRC client. A client can be found by searching for 'irc clients' on google etc. However, the most popular client is mIRC which can be found here. |

| Setting up mIRC: |

After you have downloaded mIRC, install and run the program |
|
|

You will see a popup window where it will ask you for your real name, email address, nickname and alternative (nickname)
Complete this information, and remember, you do not have to use your REAL name and email address |

Select a DALNET server
Click on connect to irc server If the client succeeds to connect, there will be a popup window where it says enter name of the channel to join
Type in #oceanborn and hopefully this will bring you to the channel
If you didn't manage to join the channel from this point you may be behind a firewall or some of your settings may be incorrect. At this point you should check the help file or let one of us know via the forum and we will try to help you.

Note |
Due to high numbers of users on dalnet you may find that the nickname you have chosen is already taken. In this instance please type /nick newnickhere to change your nickname. |

If you are using the internet from a public place, ie internet cafe, or you do not wish to install mIRC you can access the channel via this page (java chat).
Once the page has loaded go to chat now and type in a nickname and hit go.
You may be prompted to download the java program. If you are at an internet cafe they may already have this loaded, so you should just get through to a chat window.
Once you see the chat window type /join #oceanborn and you should join the channel. |
