Jukka plays the beats behind Nightwish, and has some amazing talent. He was born on the 21st April 1978 in Finland, and has played drums since he was around 14. At first he had little practice time, due to not having his own drum kit but this didn't stop him progressing and has been in 4 bands aside from Nightwish. Jukka has been part of Nightwish from the beginning and adds that special touch to each song. On stage he gives each performance his all and works hard to back up the rest of the band from behind his kit. Jukka has worked within several genres, although he has presently settled with Nightwish and Sethian.

Away from the band, Jukka enjoys the books of Margaret Weis and David Eddings and also comedy shows such as The Simpsons and Men Behaving Badly. His favourite bands are Dream Theater and Stratovarius and he lists his favourite songs as being Black Diamond by Stratovarius, Eden by Sarah Brightman and the entire Gladiator soundtrack.

Jukka’s equipment includes Tama Starclassic drums, Paiste cymbals, Pro Mark sticks and Remo drumheads.
